As my schedule ebbs and flows, I do not offer the option for clients to schedule their own appointments via this site. Please head over to the contact page and reach out or send me an email at kayla@goslowlysurely.com for those next steps.

Yes! Most BCBS-PPO plans & UHC. Please be sure to check with your insurance provider so you’ll know what they won’t cover.

I meet with clients during the week, so only Monday-Friday.
I am unable to accommodate weekend sessions.

Sessions are between 50–53 minutes. I tend to run a bit behind, but I will always thoughtfully make up for that by going over. Note that if you are late, we are not able to make up for that time by going over (i.e., a 10 A.M. session will run to 10:53 A.M.—this gives me time to prepare for my next sessions). If you are more than 10 minutes late, I will send a text or email to check-in. I will log off for the remainder of the hour after waiting for 15 minutes with no word and there will be a missed session fee issued.

This space will provide us an opportunity to begin building a sense of rapport, evaluate your needs, create goals, and gather information. Holistically speaking, I like to assess the many different aspects of one’s life to make sure or make note of necessary support, recommendations, etc.
-
We will continue to meet regularly to work towards the goals we originally set while also unpacking present challenges as they come up. I use a handful of different modalities, but I will only work as hard as you in each session. By meeting you where you are, you will learn that most of your healing will be done by you.
-
We will meet once a week to begin, but we can eventually shift to bi-weekly, once a month, or a different frequency as needed. I do not meet clients twice a week unless it is an emergency.
-
Before our first session, think about what you’re hoping to learn or accomplish within the therapeutic space. It is normal to be intimidated, anxious, or overwhelmed before the first session—but I work very hard to create a space where clients can find a sense of ease even if we are talking about challenging things.
-
I have learned this the hard way too many times! I know it’s strict, but it is a 24-hour cancellation policy—no matter what. Of course, in case of an emergency, there is flexibility—but otherwise, if a session is canceled any time after the 24-hour mark, there will be a $75 charge for the hour to your card on file. Please! Even if it’s 25.75 hours before reach out so we can work through options!

Slowly, Surely is a 100% virtual therapy practice. I have found that most of my clients prefer to meet online as it offers them flexibility in their schedules.
-
Your virtual therapy sessions (as well as all in-person sessions) are completely confidential. Everything discussed in sessions is only between us. Exceptions include: If there is a reasonable belief that you are at harm to yourself or someone else; if (as a mandated reporter) there is reason to believe that a child or an elderly individual is at risk; court mandates/subpoenas; and if you fill out an ROI form for me to talk to another individual. The clinician (myself) and the client (you) will discuss if/when confidentiality needs to be breached.
-
Absolutely. I will always meet you where you are and follow along with your pacing. If/when you are ready, the space is there—but if you never feel ready, that is also okay, and you will still have said space regardless.
-
Each and every individual will experience therapy differently. Slowly, Surely is very much about taking the healing process—well… slowly. Healing cannot be rushed, as it happens over long periods of time. You will learn and grow— sometimes quickly, sometimes not at all—but there are always shifts happening. I do not promise a certain number of sessions will offer quick fixes.
